How to check Garage Door Reversal Function

Posted on 2015-07-17 by Author admin

Many of the installed automatic garage doors are designed with a faulty reverse function. If you call an experienced company such as the Atlanta Home Garage Doors company, the technician arrives at your home, do the testing and inform you whether the reverse function sensors are in good working shape. Failure to do so implies that the reverse function is working well but it is not. But how can one check or test the garage door reverse function.

Testing the reverse function is a good idea, and it must be done on a monthly basis. The checking takes a few minutes and will save you and other users from accidents.

If you have an automatic door, the first thing is to place paper towel rolls at the bottom of an open door. Then close the door using the wall control unit, or using the remote gadget. When the door comes down and it strikes, or when it comes into contact with the towels, it senses that there is an obstacle obstructing its path. This prompts it to reverse automatically. If it fails to reverse automatically, there is a problem, and you have to call the Atlanta Home Garage Doors company to do the garage door opener remote repair and other sensor repairs. This is where the certified technicians come to adjust, replace and do repairs on the sensors, the door and openers.

Adjustments

In case the door refuses to reverse, adjustment must be done on time

This involves adjusting the garage door mechanism. On the motor, there are two dials that adjust the opener and reverse sensor. The adjustment done on the openers determines how fast the motor rise and lowers the garage door. Do an adjustment to the knob such that when you press the opener, it causes it to stop raising the garage door. Do not over adjust.

You need to place a small object under the door when it is open. Then hit the controlling button to close. When your prompt this, it closes immediately when there is an obstruction. Here, you have to do an adjustment to the reverse control to prompt the door to reverse when there is contact with an obstruction. Avoid setting it too sensitive because it causes easy reversal when the roller comes into contact or when it is tight. If it is no sensitive, the door refuses to reverse, and this can cause injuries. As you do this to the door, make sure there is the garage door opener remote install service.

Finally, you have to do the cleaning and adjustment of the garage door photoelectric eye. This also reverses the garage door. Align the eye to the reflector located on the opposite side. Failure to do this makes the door fail to close well. To test if the adjustment has succeeded, place something like a paper towel at the bottom. If it fails, do further settings.

The automatic garage doors have a reversal function which must be tested often. When testing and adjusting, check your branded garage door remote to set it to the function of your garage door opener.
